Inside the file, lesson by lesson

After the contents page and a short section on how to use it, every lesson follows one order: the Catechism paragraphs in full, the same ideas in plain words, 3 review questions and a small step for the week.

  • Lesson 1: the meaning of a sacrament, then Baptism and Confirmation (9 Catechism paragraphs)
  • Lesson 2: the Eucharist and Sunday Mass (8 paragraphs)
  • Lesson 3: Confession and the Anointing of the Sick, closing with a brief word on Holy Orders and Matrimony (9 paragraphs)
  • Answers to all 9 questions at the end, each one tied to a Catechism paragraph number
  • The Our Father, as paragraph 2759 of the Catechism gives it, for the end of each lesson

Who the booklet was written for

It is for readers, not scholars. Lesson 1 starts from people who were baptized as babies and never had that day explained to them. Lesson 2 clears up what Sunday Mass asks of Catholics, and Lesson 3 speaks to anyone who feels uneasy about Confession because no one ever explained it.

A lesson fits in 5 to 8 minutes, and the booklet recommends a pace of one per week. For questions its pages leave open, it suggests asking at a parish.

Opening the file on your phone

Tap “Download now for free” on the card. Some phones open the file in the browser; others save it to the downloads folder first. Either way is normal, and the browser or any PDF reader can open it from your downloads.

If it only opened in the browser, save it from the share menu, so next week’s lesson is already on your phone.

A last word: our team made this booklet as educational material, drawing on the text of the Catechism of the Catholic Church on vatican.va, accessed November 3, 2026. It is not an official document of the Church, and it is no substitute for parish catechesis or for a priest’s advice. We are not responsible for decisions made on the basis of this page or the PDF.
